Welcome!

I'm Ellie Antonacci

A New England artist working in oil, acrylic, and watercolor.

About my journey...

My journey as an artist began early, in childhood art classes with local Springfield artist Donald Blanton, who became a long time mentor. I later studied Art Education and Art History at UMass Amherst where my love for painting continued to grow. I now teach afterschool art lessons for children out of my home studio in Somers, CT, and students of all ages in painting workshops throughout my community. Sharing my love for art with the next generation is my passion and my students inspire me every single day.

In my current practice, I primarily paint landscapes in oil and I'm drawn to all things coastal. Like many New Englanders, I've fallen in love with Cape Cod and the National Seashore. This beautifully protected coastline informs the majority of my work and I hope viewers can feel my appreciation for it through my paintings.

Some of the most meaningful work I create comes from commissions—painting something that matters deeply to someone else. I love the collaborative process of working with a collector to bring their vision to life with a one of a kind painting.

At the end of the day, all of my work is grounded in the same intention: that a painting can hold onto a place, and offer a way to return to it.

I'm glad you're here.
